Tsukasa turned me into a believer of Golden Shrimp!

 
A review of Tsukasa of Tokyo, Vernon Hills, IL

I was treated to dinner at Tsukasa for Valentine's Day 2010 and wanted to try the "Golden Shrimp" that I've heard rave reviews about in the past. Even though I've always been one to avoid eating shrimp, I thought I'd give them one more shot. Not to disappoint, Tsukasa's hibachi chef gave us an unforgettable table-side experience filled with flames, smoke and delicious food. I had the chicken + golden shrimp and the California roll appetizer for dinner. Here's the breakdown:

Soup: very tasty...loved the tempura bits and tofu.

Salad: ginger dressing could have a little more bite, but overall, fairly good.

California Roll: good, but not exactly mind-blowing.

Hibachi Chicken w/Teriyaki Sauce: Very tasty...large portions, plenty of sauce.

Golden Shrimp: Most definitely the highlight of the meal for me...warm, buttery, tender and just overall completely scrumptious in every way possible.

I'll be going back for my birthday in April...and most likely, I'll order just the soup and the Golden Shrimp! Though all of the food is delicious, I ended up taking a large portion of my meal home since I was so full.
