Born in South Korea, adopted, grew up in the freezing state of Minnesota, moved to downtown Chicago to attend culinary school and currently living in the NW suburbs! I'm helping with the MenuMinder project and loving it! My current goal for 2010 is to find the perfect pad thai in IL and replicate it in my own kitchen...so I can eat it everyday! So far, the top contender is still Alt Thai in Arlington Heights, IL.
I LOVE: Cooking, eating, pad thai, twitter/facebook, eating at Joy Yee (hence the profile picture), Florida,cookbooks, my boyfriend, friends and family, warm weather, playing piano and cello, reading, movies, good mozzarella cheese, food network/any cooking show, gnocchi, vintage jewelry, the color red, photography, sushi, Martin Yan and Anthony Bourdain, the sizzling Australian Take-Home Chef, any Korean food, mini coopers, etc, etc.
I DON'T LOVE: SPIDERS, black licorice, closed-minded people, chicago transportation, lutefisk & torsk (I was raised by Norwegians!) snow/any cold weather, Rachel Ray, Hung from Top Chef, overly-pretentious foods, stinky cheese and bland bruschetta.
